Usually you have to download 30 remixes to get one that is half-decent. OK, I’ve got 2 that have been (somewhat) time-tested.
The first is Gonzalez’s remix of Feist’s “I Feel It All”. Not much to say here except… pretty awesome. I know next to nothing about Gonzalez. Here is his Hype Machine page. Take a look. The Brilliance covered it here.
The second is Jay-Z’s “Roc Boyz” (MikeLove’s Nigerian Gangster remix) with Fela. Get it here on The Fader. I’ve been addicted to this for WEEKS. I like it a lot more than the original… which is a rare place for a remix to take, especially when the original is as god-awefully good as it is.
