Stumbled upon this the other day and was totally blown away. It’s a huge, interactive art exhibit in London put on by United Visual Artists and onepointsix and sponsored by Playstation Season. Too bad it happened last Fall. Check out the video here and the images here. And definitely check out the quicktime video. Being a Nintendo guy I have always looked skeptically at Playstation… but this… seriously, no words.

Two ?uestlove posts in one week. That’s OK. We went down to 4th and South at Fluid and got so jiggy. Dig the kicks.

Even after reading this NY Times piece I still have no idea what coudal partners really does. I love the whole swap meat [sic] thing - basically you send in something that you sell (t-shirts, art prints), they decide if they like it. If they do they ask for a small sample to sell on their site, say 100 pieces. You get paid, they take a cut, all is well with the world.
Anyway, they do other stuff too. Verse by Voice is this project where they invite people (famous and non-) to call this answering machine that they have set up and recite their favorite poem. Nice.
My favorie is Zadie Smith reciting Frank O’Hara’s Animals.
And the new Batman trailer.

I know this is so eay to say, but OK Computer is one of the best albums of one of the best groups of the last 20 years. Easy. To celebrate the 10th anniversary of Radiohead’s now legendary OK Computer, Stereogum has asked a bunch of its favorite musicians to cover one track from the album. The result is pretty cool. I am a fan of John Vanderslice’s Karma Police. They note on the site: “we did this all legal and everything, so we can’t keep these up forever”. Shouldn’t it be the other way around? Anyway, get ‘em here.
UPDATE: So now you can only stream the tracks. I am sure this is all over bittorrent though.
Two cool design peices in the Times’ video section. The first is a time-lapse graphic representation of how obesity spreads throughout a social network. Hypnotic.
The second is a digital plan of the Chanel Contemporary Art Center by Zaha Hadid. Not really my thing but interesting nonetheless. I actually recognized her work from some of those crazy Dubai conceptual achitectural images that seem to be all over the place.

Pharrell’s last album - In My Mind - wasen’t that bad, thought it received some pretty meh reviews. Anyway, he felt there was a dream that wasen’t realized. He talks to ?uestlove who decides to remix it with him. The result… Out Of My Mind. I really wanted to love this album, but I didn’t. Find it on bittorrent. I felt like trading the clean, stripped down beats of Pharrell for the Acid-rock-y Roots band, or whomever they used for the live cuts, took away from the whole Pharrell thing. Dont break the mold Pharrell, just do it better… Sheesh…
Illegal… d/l the new interpol - our love to admire - here.
…welcome.
